Two intramolecular disulfide bridges (C128-C140 and C74-C89) participate in stabilization of the β-barrel in monomeric form of Alt a 1 (intramolecular disulfide bridges between C74 and C89 is not shown in Figure. 1A) (PDB code: 3v0r). An intermolecular disulfide bridge formed by C30 from each monomer plays fundamental role in the dimerization of Alt a 1.
