  1. 1) Adjusted for age and gender. 2) Elevated total IgE cases had serum levels of total IgE >100 kU/L, measured by CAP system (Pharmacia Diagnostics). 3) Allergen sensitization cases had at least one positive allergen specific signal, measured by Phadiatop test using CAP FEIA system (Pharmacia Diagnostics). 4) Controls had total IgE ≤ 100 kU/L or were negative for all specific allergen tested (Phadiatop).
